Katy Beetham

For the past 20 years Katy has worked therapeutically with children and families. She approaches her practice with a compassionate humility and is known to be eternally curious.

Katy’s practice involves her working with those impacted by developmental trauma, children with attachment difficulties and with families on the edge of placement breakdown.

Over the past 20 years Katy has been passionately delivering training and workshops to a wide range of audiences, always with the intention to empower and promote positive change.

Working relationally with a focus on connection sits at the core of Katy’s work and is embedded across all we do at Curiosity Project.

  • Laura Mithra

    Child & Family Therapist

    Laura's work with Curiosity Project fits with her core values of integrity, honesty and respect, which can be seen in the way she approaches her clients with humility and warmth.

    Laura has worked with children and families for over 12 years both as therapist and as service manager. She has a wealth of experience in working with children with learning and/or physical disabilities and with those impacted by developmental trauma.

    Laura is passionate about her work with children and families and this is evident through her investment in the connection from beginning to end.

  • Alex Meredith

    Occupational Therapist

    Alex is a client-centred occupational therapist, with a natural ability to connect with people and to put them at ease. Alex has worked in the field of mental health for the past 11 years in both the private and public sector, her practice is holistic and person centred at the core.

    Alex is passionate about enabling children, young people and their families to achieve the goals that matter the most to them and to helping them access life in the richest way possible.

  • Rhiannon Finn

    Play Therapist

    Rhiannon is a thoughtful and gentle therapist with a passion for movement, metaphor, and the outdoors. She has worked therapeutically with children and families for the last 10 years before training as a Play Therapist in 2019. Rhiannon loves seeing each child’s uniqueness and helping them to feel safe, grounded, and free to express themselves.

    Alongside this she is motivated by listening to parents’ and carers’ parenting challenges and helping them to feel more in control, understood, and able to enjoy their children.

  • Amy van Gils

    Child & Family Therapist and Yoga Teacher

    Amy is a compassionate therapist with a core belief that each individual is shaped by their own life experience. Movement, body awareness and creativity are central to Amy’s way of working, however she will always be led by the client’s needs.

    Amy has worked within the field of mental health for the past 15 years as both a social worker and therapist, her practice has included her working within education, social care and the NHS.

    Amy specialises in working with those impacted by developmental trauma and with the neurodivergent community.

  • Natalie Potts

    Occupational Therapist  

    Natalie has worked as an Occupational Therapist for the past 14 years in both private and NHS settings, over this period of time she has refined her practice to become Sensory Integration qualified.

    Natalie has 10 years experience of working specifically with young people presenting with complex needs and Autism, including working on a low secure ward for young people and adults. This experience in different settings has given her a wealth of knowledge for what is possible and effective in the realms of sensory. 

    Natalie enables us to provide necessary specialised sensory integration informed services to adopted children and their families. 

  • Maartje Schellekens

    Therapeutic Life Story Work

    Within Curiosity Project, Maartje takes the lead on Therapeutic Life Story Work and has experience working with those impacted by developmental trauma, neurodiverse clients and those with attachment difficulties. Maartje has worked with vulnerable children and young people for over 20 years, including supporting unaccompanied children seeking asylum.

    Maartje’s background in Drama Teaching means she is extremely skilled at connecting with children and young people. She has a natural warmth, a playful spirit and embodies a non-judgemental way of being.

  • Jeni Skelland

    Operations Manager

    Jeni has worked across sectors for the last 20 years, bringing experience from arts and culture, commercial, education and charity roles. She always puts people and community in the heart of her work, and loves to bring ideas and projects to life.

    Jeni keeps things running in the background to allow the amazing team at Curiosity Project do the life changing work they do.
