Adults and Families

In addition to offering talking based therapies, we work with movement and creativity, and provide therapeutic support for family systems.

We believe in empowering parents to become agents of change - they are the constant whilst therapy is temporary.

Connecting The Dots

Connecting The Dots is a 10 session programme incorporating therapeutic parenting and sensory integration approaches.

The programme aims to:

  • Enable parents to gain greater understanding of their child’s behaviour and to enhance knowledge of the hidden and expressed need.

  • Cultivate greater understanding of the sensory system and help parents to use this understanding to shape their parenting approach

  • Equip parents with greater potential to self-regulate and to co-regulate their child

Connecting the Dots draws upon Sensory Attachment Intervention, Sensory Integration approaches and utilises Therapeutic Parenting aspects of DDP.

“The change, understanding and clarity Connecting the Dots has brought to families is remarkable for 10 weeks.

Each therapist has so much knowledge, and they all work with such a supportive, caring and empathetic approach.

I cannot recommend it enough.”

FAQs for parents

  • This programme draws on the evidence base/research, that there is long term benefit to the family, when a Therapist works with the parent to bring about positive change with their child. This programme works because it gives parents the tools to support their children, long after the therapists have ended the sessions.

Informing, supporting and guiding parents toward becoming consistent, compassionate and connected provides your child with greater opportunity to an enhanced attachment security and by extension improved self-esteem.

We will work with you to use this knowledge in a much deeper way. We will help you to enhance your connection and to move toward greater security.  Our team have 20 years’ experience in this field and are committed to their continuous professional development as well as being passionate about supporting children and families.

In addition to gaining a greater understanding of the way your child communicates their needs and why, we will specifically explore your child’s sensory system and help you to co-regulate them so that they can learn to self regulate. This programme is 10 sessions of bespoke support which is tailored to your family. This is uniquely designed to equip you with tools to help your child, through an understanding of the impact of their trauma and subsequent complex presenting symptoms.

Connecting The Dots has seen so many parents in your shoes, and if it helps with your worries, we can connect you with one of the parents that has completed the programme to talk about how they felt.

  • Asking for support for your children and gaining a greater understanding of your child’s needs is something that shows strength as a parent.
