'And I still don't know how I even survive'.

I really really love how I find myself dancing about the hallway (the tiles and soft socks make this THE best place in my house to dance about) and how bright it makes me feel, yet when I looked at the lyrics, I realised how deep they were and how relevant to the work we do with our young folk.

Days can proper feel like we are walking under a rain cloud, heavy on our head and heart but without feeling the refreshing feel of the rain coming down. So we just experience the heaviness and the plodding going on in our feet down below.

We don't get much appreciation as parents, and try as some other parents do when they try to console you saying 'oh sometimes mine doesn't want to go to school' they will never really understood how it feels when everyday you're waking up not knowing if the daily battle of the school morning will end up in attendance or you having to call your work and tell them you can't come in today because your child can't get in to school.

People do try and be supportive, and I hope that readers can identify at least one person in their lives who is unconditionally there for them, yet the pressure from school/society/voices in our heads/grandparents can feel like this unburst rain cloud and us questioning how we even survive.

And that is what I love about this song, it's like a special dance that I allow myself while gently acknowledging that times are hard. A bit of a relief really, like a mini celebration of myself because times are blooming hard.
