The One Liner Podcast Review

"I can choose to observe them, but not react".

Oh Blindboy.

Now those of you who have heard of him, or even listened to him, we can acknowledge a Marmite situation as some people lovvve him and some people struggle with him.

I love him. I even visited Limerick this year in the hope of crossing paths with him (I didn't...).

And here he finds himself on an airplane with a bousy wasp. The bousy wasp is seen at the end of summer when they are in severe need of pollen. They've been busy working for months, collecting, seeking, avoiding danger, providing and now, as the summer draws in, the wasp is in deficit of sugar; fuel and energy, they must feel lethargic and foggy, moving and behaving in non-sensical ways.

Now, as parents, we can all recognise those bousy moments in our children when, especially at the end of a fun packed day, their bousiness feels like they are buzzing around you, preventing you from thinking, drinking, cleaning, weeing, talking to your mother-in-law, and I think what resonated more with this episode was his ability to curse and experience frustration in his head, yet manage to calm himself and offer the wasp empathy.

I found it so powerful that I've listened to it a few times. Ok, I know, his patience and empathy for the person in front isn't always possible, yet for himself and the wasp, he did the work and arrived at a place of understanding and peace in order to better deal with the bousiness.

And I take my hat off to him.
